A playwright on a pre-warp planet who nursed the injured B'Elanna Torres after the Delta Flyer crashed and turned her stories into plays.
Kelis is a poet and playwright in Muse, living in a pre-warp society whose culture resembles ancient Greece. After the Delta Flyer crashes near his village, he finds B'Elanna Torres unconscious and tends to her, though his treatment includes bleeding her for a fever. He also mines her ramblings about Voyager for plays that delight his audiences and his wealthy patron.
When Torres heals her wounds with a dermal regenerator, Kelis believes she is an Eternal, one of his people's gods. Pressed by his patron for a new play within a week, he works with Torres on one while she waits for rescue, and she is retrieved by Voyager during its performance.
