Taymon was a male on Taresia who befriended Harry Kim and whose fate revealed the deadly truth of Taresian reproduction.
Taymon was one of the few men living on Taresia, a world where females far outnumbered males and men were prized. He befriended Harry Kim after Kim arrived believing himself to be Taresian, and invited him to take part in his marriage ceremony with three women.
In Favorite Son, Kim later found Taymon's desiccated remains, leading him to learn that Taresian women reproduce by draining the DNA of men, killing them in the process. Like Kim, Taymon had been brought to the planet from another species, a discovery that convinced Kim to flee.
