Wesley Crusher is the gifted son of Dr. Beverly Crusher, who grows up aboard the Enterprise-D during The Next Generation. Played by Wil Wheaton, he is a brilliant, eager teenager who becomes an acting ensign and helps the crew solve crises with his quick mind.
His path is guided by Captain Picard and by the mysterious Traveler, who sees extraordinary potential in him. He eventually attends Starfleet Academy, but a tragic accident and a controversy involving his classmates make him question his future. In the end he leaves Starfleet to explore the universe with the Traveler and learns to manipulate space and time in ways few others can. He makes a cameo in Star Trek: Nemesis, and he returns in later stories.
Wesley endures as a reminder of youthful ambition. He is a hero for curious young viewers everywhere.
