Picard returns to his family's vineyard in France to recover.
Picard returns to his family home in France to recover from his ordeal with the Borg. He meets his brother Robert, who has an old rivalry with him and a different view of the world. The visit forces the Captain to face his emotions and his traumatic experience in a quiet and human way.
Meanwhile, back on the Enterprise, Worf's adoptive human parents arrive for a visit, and Wesley sees a hologram message from his late father. The episode is a gentle follow-up to the Borg story, with no starship action at all, and it is regarded as a thoughtful examination of the aftermath of trauma. It also gives some insight into the Picard family and into the crew's personal lives.
