Anya was the fiercely protective shape-shifting guardian of Salia, the young heir to Daled IV.
Anya was the governess and protector of Salia, the future ruler of Daled IV, in The Dauphin. She guarded the girl jealously aboard the Enterprise and took many forms, from an elderly woman to a powerful creature, which revealed that she was an allasomorph.
Anya distrusted the crew, at one point wanting to kill a crew member with a contagious disease to protect Salia, and she objected strongly to Wesley Crusher's interest in her charge. Worf and Picard faced her down, and she accompanied Salia home to Daled IV. Paddi Edwards played her in her elderly form.
