Gwyn, displaced by a timeline disruption, is rescued after the friends turn the Infinity into a time machine.
Dal, Zero, Jankom and Maj'el receive a cryptic message urging them to save Gwyn. They find her in agony, slipping in and out of time because their interference has displaced her, and Zero proposes building a time machine. Dal crams temporal mechanics as the group converts the Infinity, while Ilthuran comforts Gwyn, and in her out-of-phase state she hears a mysterious voice telling her the friends must stay together.
The crew rescues Gwyn and returns to Voyager-A, where the Doctor fits her with an interphase armband that stabilizes her. Meanwhile, Murf is seen communicating with a stranger. The episode plants the mystery of the crew's unseen benefactor, later revealed as Wesley Crusher, and the warning to stay together becomes a refrain for the rest of the season.
