The careless commander of a mining shuttle who crash-landed with Picard and Wesley Crusher on a barren desert moon.
Dirgo is the captain of a shabby shuttle sent by the miners of Pentarus V to carry Picard to mediate their dispute. Boastful and poorly prepared, he keeps no emergency supplies on board, and when his vessel fails it crashes on a harsh desert moon.
In Final Mission, Dirgo, Picard and Wesley Crusher trek across the moon in search of water and find a fountain guarded by a force field. Dirgo's attempt to blast it with his phaser triggers a rockslide that badly injures Picard. Ignoring Wesley, he later attacks the fountain again and is killed by its defenses.
