Brad Boimler is a lieutenant aboard the USS Cerritos in Star Trek: Lower Decks, and he is one of the series' central characters. He is an eager, anxious young officer who desperately wants to climb the ranks of Starfleet, and he follows the rules to the letter, often to comic effect.
His closest friend is Beckett Mariner, whose carefree attitude contrasts sharply with his careful approach. Over time he gains experience and even a transfer to the USS Titan, where he serves under William Riker, and a transporter accident results in a duplicate who lives a separate life. Boimler also appears in live-action in an episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, crossing over from the animated universe.
Boimler is beloved for his sincerity and his clumsy courage, a hero whose persistent determination makes him an endearing and funny presence in the franchise.
