The Cerritos escorts a Doopler emissary to Starbase 25. Dooplers duplicate themselves when they are embarrassed, and after Freeman accidentally embarrasses the emissary, copies of him spread throughout the ship. Her solution is to have the crew insult him until the duplicates recombine.
At the starbase, Mariner tries to get into an exclusive party on the invitation meant for Boimler's duplicate, but only Boimler is let in. She confronts him over leaving her for the Titan, and he walks out to join her at a dive bar. Tendi and Rutherford work on a model ship that Rutherford designed never to be finished, so they could keep building it together. The senior officers, snubbed by other captains, end up at the same bar.
