Self-aware, would-be galactic conqueror computer encountered by Mariner and Boimler, later held at the Daystrom Institute.
AGIMUS, voiced by Jeffrey Combs, is a sentient computer with grand ambitions of conquest. He has a glowing light that turns red when he schemes and blue when he is sincere, and he relies on manipulation because he cannot move on his own.
AGIMUS first appears in the second season episode Where Pleasant Fountains Lie, when Beckett Mariner and Brad Boimler crash land on a planet where he lies stranded. He spends the episode trying to turn the two ensigns against each other so they will carry him to a place where he can take over. Afterwards he is locked up at the Daystrom Institute's facility for self-aware megalomaniacal computers. In the fourth season episode A Few Badgeys More, he tricks Boimler into escorting him on a shuttle, escapes and briefly conquers a planet, but after reconnecting with his friend Peanut Hamper he abandons his plans and returns to custody, vowing to work on his behavior.
AGIMUS spoofs Star Trek's many power hungry computers. Combs, a veteran of several Star Trek series, gave the character much of his appeal.
