Boimler, Tendi and Mariner race rival shifts for a quarters lottery while engineers build a stress-relief machine.
Freeman rewards the exhausted engineering staff with a trip to a spa, but they keep working, and her own stress climbs to dangerous levels. The engineers build a device that instantly relaxes her, only for the spa's manager to have it destroyed to protect her business.
Boimler, Tendi and Mariner are fed up with their cramped bunks in the hallway and learn that the rival Delta Shift plans to hack the lottery for a free room. The trio fight their way through hazardous parts of the ship to reach the terminal first, but with only one room available they refuse to split up and let Delta Shift have it, then watch enviously as the rivals simply share it and throw a party.
