Targalus IX is a planet adjusting to a new post-scarcity economy, where resentful former elites kidnap two Cerritos ensigns.
Targalus IX is a world in transition to a post-scarcity economy, and the Cerritos is sent to help in Shades of Green. Not everyone welcomes the change, and formerly wealthy Targalans who resent the loss of their status kidnap two ensigns.
The ensigns survive by following advice from Lieutenant Brad Boimler, who rescues them with Mariner. When Tendi returns from Orion, she asks for the planet's now discarded gold and jewels to be given to her family, restoring their fortune.
