The crew hunts a tech-eating nanite swarm at a space hotel while personal dramas play out.
At a space hotel, Mariner, Rutherford, Tendi and T'Lyn must capture a nanite swarm that devours technology and energy. Mariner's ex-girlfriend Jennifer Sh'reyan, whom Mariner had ghosted, joins the hunt and pretends they are still together to force a long-overdue conversation, and the two finally end the relationship properly.
Boimler works with Commander Ransom to find Admiral Milius, who has gone absent without leave out of frustration with dull assignments, and briefly sympathizes with him before helping bring him in. Rutherford disables the nanites, which turn out to be controlled by a microscopic Starfleet ship from a parallel universe, and Milius is happily assigned to help it get home.
