D'Vana attends her sister's wedding on an Orion world while Boimler and Rutherford settle roommate disputes.
After an Orion ship is attacked by the mysterious vessel, Starfleet presses Tendi to attend her sister D'Erika's wedding on Orion as a goodwill gesture, and Mariner and T'Lyn go with her. The Tendi family is powerful and feared, and when the bride is kidnapped, tradition makes D'Vana responsible for the rescue.
They trace D'Erika to an abandoned shipyard, where D'Vana admits she was trained as an elite assassin before fleeing to join Starfleet. D'Erika ambushes her as revenge for leaving, but the sisters reconcile and the wedding goes ahead. Back on the Cerritos, Boimler and Rutherford become roommates and settle their disputes by role-playing Mark Twain on the holodeck, a tactic they suggest to Freeman for handling a hostile Chalnoth captain.
