Hot-tempered but sensitive Bajoran security chief of the USS Cerritos, a former resistance fighter who once died and returned.
Shaxs, voiced by Fred Tatasciore, is the Bajoran chief of security aboard the USS Cerritos in the 2380s. He fought in the Bajoran resistance alongside Kira Nerys and carries a warrior's love of battle, yet he is also emotional and easily moved to tears. He has been described as a parody of both Worf and Kira.
Shaxs is often the first to suggest violence as a solution, and he is protective of the ship and its crew. In the first season finale he sacrifices himself to save Sam Rutherford during the battle with the Pakleds and the rogue hologram Badgey. The second season gives the Cerritos a new security chief, but Shaxs returns early in that season, revived by means the crew prefers not to discuss. He has a romantic relationship with the ship's doctor, T'Ana, and his opinion of Brad Boimler improves greatly after Boimler impresses him.
Shaxs is one of the most colorful members of the Cerritos senior staff. His mix of ferocity and tenderness makes him a fan favorite in Lower Decks.
