K'ranch is an alien hunter who chases Boimler as his willing prey, then releases him and praises him to his superiors.
K'ranch is an alien hunter encountered in The Least Dangerous Game. Discouraged that playing it safe is holding back his career, Boimler resolves to say yes to more opportunities and agrees to be the prey in K'ranch's hunt.
Boimler initially flees and then tries to turn the tables, but K'ranch captures him easily. Instead of harming him, K'ranch releases Boimler and commends him to his superior officers. The experience convinces Boimler to adopt a bolder attitude, which he calls being Bold Boimler.
