Ma'ah returns to his family farm after losing command and, encouraged by Boimler, confronts a tyrant.
The Klingon officer Ma'ah, stripped of his command after his crew mutinied, has gone back to his family farm. Boimler and Mariner offer to help him regain a ship, but Ma'ah is reluctant because his appeals keep being blocked by Bargh, head of the Klingon Oversight Council, whose brother Ma'ah once killed.
Encouraged by Boimler, Ma'ah kills Bargh and starts again with his brother Malor as first officer, and the two learn that the parallel-universe rifts appearing in Klingon space are not natural. Meanwhile, the Cerritos escorts two food critics to the homeworld of the ship's counselor Dr. Migleemo, and Tendi, Rutherford and Freeman expose them as frauds who have lost their sense of taste.
