Phlox is the Denobulan physician aboard Enterprise NX-01, played by John Billingsley. Perpetually curious, cheerful and endlessly talkative, he came to Earth under an interspecies medical exchange and quickly became one of Captain Archer's most trusted advisors.
His sickbay is filled with unusual creatures that he treats as both patients and companions, and he approaches every medical puzzle, from alien plagues to cultural clashes, with delight rather than dread. He also forms close friendships with Archer, Trip and T'Pol, often offering gentle moral guidance, and he is central to the crew's efforts to handle a dangerous outbreak among the Klingons and to confront questions about whether to share cures.
Phlox endures as one of the franchise's warmest doctors. His optimism, his open mind about other species and his unusual family customs make him a charming reminder of how much humans had to learn about their new neighbors.
