Antaak was a Klingon doctor who, in Affliction and Divergence, worked alongside Phlox after the Klingons abducted the Denobulan to stop a deadly plague. Played by John Schuck, he revealed that Klingon scientists had experimented with genetically augmented human DNA, which had mutated and spread as a virus, giving victims human-like features before killing them.
With Phlox, Antaak developed a cure that halted the plague, though those already infected kept their human appearance, accounting for the smooth-foreheaded Klingons of the following century.
