A young clone of Picard seizes control of the Romulan Empire and plans an attack on Earth.

Star Trek: Nemesis, released in 2002 and directed by Stuart Baird, is the last film with the Next Generation cast. It begins as Captain Picard and his crew are called to Romulus, where a new Praetor named Shinzon has taken power and offered peace. They soon discover that Shinzon is a clone of Picard, created by the Romulans and left to grow up on the slave world of Remus.
The story is about identity, the nature of the self and the choices that shape a person. Shinzon is a dark mirror of Picard, and the two commanders face each other in a battle that endangers the Federation and the Romulan Empire. Data meets a simpler android called B-4, and in the end Data makes a sacrifice to save his friends. Riker is promoted to a command of his own and Troi goes with him.
The film closed the story of the Next Generation crew on the big screen. It brought the Enterprise-E and its crew to a new stage, as the group began to break up. The story is a final look at the crew in the era after the Dominion War.
