The praetor of the Romulan Star Empire who was killed with the Senate when Shinzon seized power.
Hiren is the praetor of the Romulan Star Empire. He opposes an alliance with Shinzon, the Reman leader whose forces have support from some of the Romulan military.
In Star Trek: Nemesis, Hiren and the Senate reject Shinzon's proposals. Moments later a thalaron device left in the chamber disintegrates him and the senators, clearing the way for Shinzon to take control of the Empire. His death leaves the Romulan government in the hands of Shinzon and his allies in the military.
