The legislative assembly of the Romulan Star Empire, which meets on Romulus alongside the praetor.
The Romulan Senate is the governing assembly of the Romulan Star Empire, working alongside the praetor who leads the state. Senators wield great influence over military and foreign policy, and its chamber on Romulus is where much of the empire's political intrigue unfolds.
In Star Trek: Nemesis, the Reman leader Shinzon has the entire Senate, including Praetor Hiren, killed in 2379 with a thalaron device, and he seizes power for himself. The Romulan commander Donatra later helps the Enterprise stop Shinzon's plans.
