The Dominion fleet approaches the wormhole and the station makes its stand.
After the Romulans and other powers sign non-aggression pacts with the Dominion, Starfleet orders Sisko to stop more Dominion ships from coming through the wormhole. Dax, O'Brien and Rom devise a field of cloaked, self-replicating mines that only work once fully laid, and Weyoun threatens to attack the station unless the work stops. Sisko persuades Bajor to sign its own non-aggression pact to keep it safe, and marries Rom and Leeta before the Bajorans leave.
The Dominion attacks, the minefield goes live, and Sisko evacuates Starfleet personnel, surrendering the station while a Starfleet and Klingon force destroys a key Dominion shipyard. Worf and Dax agree to marry if they survive. Kira, Odo and Quark stay to greet Dukat and Weyoun, and Jake remains as a reporter. Dukat finds the baseball Sisko left behind as a promise to return. The fifth-season finale launches the Dominion War.
