In Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) he played the President of the United Federation of Planets, who must decide how to respond after Chancellor Gorkon's assassination. He returned in Voyager's two-part Year of Hell (1997) as Annorax, a Krenim scientist who uses a temporal weapon ship to rewrite history in an attempt to restore his lost family, and he also guest-starred in Deep Space Nine.
