Archer fights a ritual duel with Shran and assembles a joint fleet to hunt the Romulan drone ship turning Andorians and Tellarites against each other.
Archer persuades Andorian, Tellarite and Vulcan ships to work together to hunt the Romulan drone ship. Tensions threaten the alliance when Shran challenges a Tellarite to a ritual duel to the death, the ushaan, after the death of Shran's companion, Talas.
Archer takes the Tellarite's place in the duel and wins by cutting off one of Shran's antennae rather than killing him. Meanwhile, Tucker and Reed, trapped on the drone ship, help the fleet target it. The episode was directed by David Livingston, with a teleplay by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens.
