Archer and Shran visit the Andorian homeworld to find out why an Aenar, a blind telepathic Andorian, is piloting the Romulan drone ship.
The crew learns that the Romulan drone ship is being flown telepathically by an Aenar, a member of a pale, blind and pacifist Andorian subspecies thought by many to be a myth. Archer and Shran travel to the icy Andorian homeworld to find the reclusive Aenar and ask for their help.
An Aenar woman, Jhamel, agrees to come aboard Enterprise, because the captive pilot is her brother, Gareb, who was taken by the Romulans. Using a telepathic device the crew builds, she reaches Gareb, and with his help the drone ships are defeated. Shran grows close to Jhamel during the mission. The episode was directed by Mike Vejar, with a teleplay by Andre Bormanis.
