Gral was a Tellarite ambassador whom Enterprise transported to a conference on Babel in 2154 to settle a dispute with the Andorians. Played by Lee Arenberg, he traded insults with the Andorians in keeping with his people's love of argument, and tensions worsened when a disguised Romulan drone ship destroyed Shran's ship and appeared to implicate the Tellarites.
In United, after Archer took a Tellarite's place in a ritual duel with Shran, Gral pledged Tellarite ships to the joint fleet Archer needed to catch the Romulan drone. The cooperation foreshadowed the alliance that would become the Federation.
