Sisko's fleet fights its way to the occupied station as the minefield falls, and only the Prophets can stop the Dominion reinforcements.
Sisko's fleet battles the larger Dominion force defending the station, and a Klingon fleet arrives to open a path for the Defiant alone. On the station, Damar arrests Kira, Jake and Leeta, but Quark and Ziyal free them, and Odo finally breaks with the Female Changeling to rescue Kira and Rom. Rom disables the station's weapons moments too late to save the minefield.
Sisko takes the Defiant into the wormhole to face the arriving Dominion fleet and, in a vision, persuades the Prophets to make the enemy ships vanish, though they warn that a penance will be required. The Dominion abandons the station. Ziyal confesses to helping the prisoners and Damar shoots her dead, leaving Dukat broken and in custody when Sisko returns.
