Seska is a Cardassian spy who infiltrates the crew of Voyager, first appearing as a Bajoran member of the Maquis. Played by Martha Hackett, she is resourceful and ambitious, and she serves as one of the show's most dangerous recurring antagonists.
Her deception is revealed early on, when she is exposed as a Cardassian agent who has been surgically altered. She then allies with the Kazon-Nistrim and uses her knowledge of Voyager to undermine the ship, steal technology and strike at Chakotay, with whom she had a past relationship. Her schemes bring the crew under serious threat and lead to a long personal feud, culminating in a bitter conflict over a child she claims is Chakotay's.
Seska endures as a cunning betrayer. Her fearlessness and relentless drive make her a memorable foil in the early seasons of the series.
