Seska and the Kazon-Nistrim captured Voyager and stranded its crew on Hanon IV until a few people still aboard helped retake the ship.
Seska, a Cardassian spy who had served in Chakotay's Maquis cell and defected to the Kazon-Nistrim, lured Voyager into a trap by claiming her child was in danger. Kazon forces under Maje Culluh took the ship and left the crew on the primitive world of Hanon IV without tools or supplies.
The Doctor and crewman Lon Suder, who remained hidden aboard, fought back with sabotage, while Tom Paris, who had escaped in a shuttle, brought Talaxian help. Suder and Seska were both killed, and Janeway's crew retook Voyager.
