The Ocampa homeworld is a desert planet whose people live in an underground city sustained by the Caretaker, near the array that stranded Voyager.
The Ocampa homeworld is the planet where Voyager's journey began. Its surface was turned into a barren desert long before the crew arrived, an ecological catastrophe linked to the Nacene who came to the system. The Kazon-Ogla roamed the surface, while the Ocampa lived in a sealed subterranean city, their energy and needs supplied by the Caretaker's array in orbit.
In Caretaker, the crews of Voyager and the Maquis ship followed energy pulses from the array to this world while searching for Harry Kim and B'Elanna Torres. Kes, born in the underground city, had escaped to the surface, and her rescue brought Neelix and her into Voyager's crew.
