La Sirena reaches Soji's homeworld Coppelius, where Altan Inigo Soong and the synths plan to summon beings to stop the Romulans.
Using a Borg transwarp conduit, La Sirena reaches Coppelius ahead of the Romulan fleet, followed by Narek and the Artifact. The planet's giant orchid defenses force all three ships down, and Picard tells the crew about his terminal illness.
At the synth settlement they meet Altan Inigo Soong, the son of Data's creator, and a colony of androids including Sutra, twin of the murdered Janna. Sutra shares the Romulan warning, which she interprets as a message from higher beings willing to protect synthetics by destroying organics. The synths plan to summon them before the Romulans arrive, and Picard, who objects, is confined. Akiva Goldsman directed both parts of the finale.
