Character Star Trek: Picard

Narek

Romulan Zhat Vash operative

Romulan Zhat Vash spy who seduced Soji Asha aboard the Artifact to learn the location of her synthetic homeworld.

Narek, played by Harry Treadaway, is a Romulan operative of the Zhat Vash. He is stationed aboard the Artifact, a derelict Borg cube held by the Romulans, where he spies on the synthetic Soji Asha.
As part of his cover, Narek befriends Soji and becomes her lover. In the episode The Impossible Box he guides her through a Romulan meditation exercise that unlocks her memories and reveals the location of her homeworld, then betrays her. He follows Cristóbal Rios's ship to the synth world of Coppelius, where he is captured, then freed by the synth Sutra. He later strikes a deal with Rios and his crew to try to sabotage the synths' beacon, which could summon a destructive force against organic life. His sister Narissa is also a Zhat Vash agent.
Narek is one of the main antagonists of Picard's first season. His relationship with Soji mixes affection and manipulation, making him one of the season's most morally ambiguous figures.
