A Klingon leader who became chancellor.
L'Rell is a Klingon leader who rises from a scheming, scarred House member to the ruler of the Klingon Empire in Discovery. She starts as a loyal follower of T'Kuvma, working to unify the Klingon houses, and she is willing to use deception to protect her people.
Her relationship with the Starfleet officer Ash Tyler, who has been surgically altered to appear human, forms one of the show's most complicated romances, and she bears his child. As a chancellor, she forms an uneasy alliance with Michael Burnham and the Federation, helping to defeat a common threat and navigate the end of the war. Her loyalty is repeatedly tested, and she makes decisions that favor long-term stability over revenge.
L'Rell is remembered as a shrewd and resilient leader whose arc shows the Klingons as a society capable of change.
