In 2257 Kol-Sha, father of Kol, tried to overthrow Chancellor L'Rell by kidnapping her infant son, until Georgiou and Section 31 intervened.
The Klingon houses were restless under L'Rell's rule, and Kol-Sha used the secret of her child with Voq to threaten her. He took the baby and planned to expose her, with Ash Tyler, the former Voq, caught in the struggle.
Philippa Georgiou and Section 31 helped defeat Kol-Sha. To protect the child from future rivals, L'Rell pretended he and Tyler were dead and secretly sent her son to the monks of Boreth, while Tyler joined Section 31.
