Quark and Rom steal a cloaking device and cross into the mirror universe to ransom the kidnapped Grand Nagus Zek.
The mirror universe's Ezri tells Quark that Grand Nagus Zek has been kidnapped by the Alliance, which demands a cloaking device as ransom. Quark and Rom steal one from Martok's ship and are taken across to Terok Nor, where the rebels arrest them before the mirror Brunt frees them and brings them to the Alliance's Regent, the mirror Worf.
The scheme turns out to be the work of the mirror Kira, Ezri's lover, who kills Brunt; Ezri turns against her. Rom installs the cloak but sabotages it so that it drains the flagship's power, and the rebels force the Regent to surrender. Ezri saves the Ferengi from the mirror Garak, and they return home with Zek.
