An Aenar telepath kidnapped by the Romulans and forced to pilot their drone ships.
Gareb is an Aenar, one of the blind, telepathic offshoot of the Andorian people. In The Aenar he is revealed as the pilot of the Romulan drone ships that have been attacking ships in the region, having been abducted and his telepathic abilities exploited by Admiral Valdore's operation.
His sister Jhamel volunteers to help Archer and Shran reach him, using her own telepathy to try to break through to him. Gareb's plight gives the Romulan scheme a personal cost and draws the reclusive Aenar into the affairs of the wider quadrant.
