In 2399 a retired Picard is sought out by Dahj, a young woman hunted by assassins who turns out to be an android created from Data.

In 2399, about twenty years after Star Trek Nemesis, retired Admiral Jean-Luc Picard lives at his family vineyard with his Romulan staff, Laris and Zhaban. In a televised interview he explains that he resigned from Starfleet after it abandoned its evacuation of Romulans facing a supernova, a retreat that followed an attack on Mars by rogue synthetics and led to a ban on synthetic life.
Dahj, a young woman whose hidden abilities emerge when Romulan assassins kill her boyfriend, seeks Picard out. He realizes she resembles a painting Data made, but she is killed in a second attack. Dr. Agnes Jurati of the Daystrom Institute suggests Dahj was Data's daughter, made as one of a pair, and her twin Soji is shown working aboard a Borg cube held by the Romulans. Hanelle M. Culpepper directed.
