Pulitzer Prize-winning American novelist who co-created Star Trek: Picard and served as its first-season showrunner.
Michael Chabon is an American novelist and screenwriter whose books include The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, Wonder Boys and The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2001.
Chabon came to Star Trek through Short Treks, writing the episode Calypso, before co-creating Star Trek: Picard with Akiva Goldsman, Kirsten Beyer and Alex Kurtzman. He served as showrunner for the first season, which followed Jean-Luc Picard out of retirement beginning with Remembrance and explored the fate of the synthetics descended from Data, the Romulan refugees displaced by the supernova and the shadowy Zhat Vash conspiracy.
Chabon stepped away from the series after its first season, and Terry Matalas took over as showrunner for the remaining two seasons, while Chabon returned to his work as a novelist and screenwriter outside the franchise.
