A former Tal Shiar operative who lived at Picard's vineyard.
Laris is a Romulan in Star Trek: Picard, played by Orla Brady. She and her husband Zhaban are former Tal Shiar agents who left that life behind and live at Jean-Luc Picard's vineyard in France, where they run the estate and look after him.
In the first season, when Picard takes up the cause of Dahj and her twin Soji, Laris uses her investigative skills at the scene of Dahj's death and uncovers evidence of the secret Romulan group known as the Zhat Vash, and she and Zhaban fight off Romulan assassins at the chateau.
By the second season Zhaban has died, and Laris and Picard admit their feelings for each other. She remains at the vineyard while Picard confronts Q and his own past, and at the season's end the two appear ready to begin a relationship. Laris offers a domestic view of Romulan life and shows how old enemies can become family.
