A typical day for the Cerritos senior officers brings a packed schedule and cascading failures.
For once the show follows the senior officers through an ordinary day. Freeman attends performances and rituals to support her crew, Billups contends with cascading equipment failures, Shaxs meditates on his trauma from the Cardassian occupation of Bajor, and Dr. T'Ana puts herself through painful treatments to prove a point about painkillers.
Ransom leads a team of squabbling ensigns herding Buhgoons, cloaking space creatures, for a visiting ecologist, and pretends to be incompetent so the ensigns unite against him. The ecologist turns out to be the leader of the Clickets, who want the Buhgoons' cloaking ability. Freeman remembers that Clickets cannot stand compliments and praises them until they retreat, and her husband arrives for their anniversary.
