Keiko O'Brien

Keiko O'Brien, born Keiko Ishikawa, is a botanist who marries Miles O'Brien aboard the Enterprise-D in The Next Generation episode Data's Day, played by Rosalind Chao. In Disaster she gives birth to their daughter Molly in Ten Forward, with Worf assisting at the delivery.
When Miles transfers to Deep Space Nine, Keiko opens a school on the station for its children. She later spends time on a botanical expedition on Bajor, a separation that tests the marriage. In The Assignment a Pah-wraith takes possession of her and threatens her life unless Miles carries out its plans for the station.
While she is pregnant with their second child, an accident forces the baby to be transferred to Kira Nerys, who carries him to term; their son is named Kirayoshi. Keiko represents the families who live aboard Starfleet ships and stations and the compromises they make.
