American actress who played botanist Keiko O'Brien on The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine.
Rosalind Chao, an American actress born in 1957, played Keiko O'Brien, the botanist who marries Miles O'Brien in the Next Generation episode Data's Day. She appeared in further episodes including Power Play, in which Keiko is held hostage, and Rascals, before following the character to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, where Keiko opened the station's school.
Chao earlier played Soon-Lee Klinger in the sitcom AfterMASH. Her other credits include the film The Joy Luck Club and the series The O.C. and 3 Body Problem.
