Bajoran engineer on Miles O'Brien's staff who secretly served Vedek Winn and tried to assassinate Vedek Bareil on the Promenade.
Neela is a Bajoran engineer serving on Miles O'Brien's operations team on Deep Space Nine. She appears to be a quiet and capable member of the station's staff, but she is secretly a follower of Vedek Winn, who is stirring up religious opposition to the teaching at Keiko O'Brien's school.
In In the Hands of the Prophets, Neela kills a Starfleet officer who discovers her tampering with station systems, then uses the disruption to try to assassinate Vedek Bareil, Winn's rival for the office of Kai, during his visit to the Promenade. Benjamin Sisko reaches her before she can fire, and she is taken into custody.
