The species of the Diviner and Gwyn, from the planet Solum, whose history is tied to a disastrous first contact with the Federation.
The Vau N'Akat are a humanoid species from the planet Solum. Their best known members in Star Trek: Prodigy are the Diviner, who runs the prison colony on Tars Lamora, and his daughter Gwyn, a gifted linguist who joins the crew of the USS Protostar.
The Diviner comes from a future in which Solum was torn apart by civil war after its first contact with the Federation. Blaming the Federation for his world's destruction, he travelled back in time to find the Protostar, which carried a weapon known as the Living Construct that he hoped to turn against Starfleet.
In the second season, the young crew travels to Solum's past and learns more of its history, including the role of the Diviner's younger self, Ilthuran, and the warrior Asencia. Gwyn helps change the course of events so that the Vau N'Akat make a peaceful first contact with the Federation. The Diviner himself is redeemed before being killed while defending Gwyn.
