Dying Cardassian dissident Tekeny Ghemor asks Kira to hear his secrets, while Dukat and Weyoun try to take him back.
Tekeny Ghemor, the Cardassian dissident who once believed Kira was his daughter, arrives on the station and reveals that he is dying. He asks Kira to take part in the shri-tal ritual, in which he will pass on his secrets for use against Cardassia's new Dominion-backed government. Gul Dukat and Weyoun come to the station to demand his return.
Dukat tries to turn Kira against Ghemor by revealing that he took part in a massacre of Bajorans as a young soldier. Kira withdraws, but after recalling how she left her own dying father to join a fight, she returns and stays with Ghemor until his death. She then buries him on Bajor next to her father. Avery Brooks directed the episode.
