Travis Mayweather's older brother, who becomes acting captain of the cargo ship Horizon after their father dies.
Paul Mayweather is Travis's brother and grew up with him aboard the cargo ship Horizon. In Horizon, after their father's death, Paul is named acting captain but struggles with the job. When Travis visits and offers to improve the ship's systems, Paul tells him to stop, leaving his brother feeling out of place.
When raiders attack and plant a homing device on the hull, Paul at first wants to flee and surrender the cargo. The brothers eventually work together to defend the ship, and Paul grows into his new role.
