Dax leads the Defiant against a Dominion sensor array, while on the station the Female Changeling draws Odo away from Kira's resistance.
Newly made adjutant to Admiral Ross, Sisko must stay behind while Dax leads the Defiant on a mission to destroy a Dominion sensor array. On the occupied station, Kira's small resistance cell stirs up distrust between the Cardassians and the Jem'Hadar.
The Female Changeling arrives and persuades Odo to link with her. When Damar lets slip a plan to destroy the wormhole minefield from the station, Kira and Rom plan sabotage with Odo's help, but Odo is linked with the Founder at the crucial moment and fails to cover for Rom, who is caught. Odo tells a stunned Kira that nothing else mattered while he was linked.
