The daughter of Betazed's president, who left the War College for Starfleet Academy after a telepathic ordeal.
Tarima Sadal is the daughter of the president of Betazed, played by Zoë Steiner. She led a youth movement urging Betazed, isolated since the Burn, to rejoin the Federation, and met Caleb Mir while her father's delegation visited the academy. When she learned he had used her knowledge to search for his mother, she was angry, though they later reconciled.
After Betazed rejoined the Federation, Tarima enrolled in the War College. When the alien Furies took cadets hostage aboard the derelict USS Miyazaki, she linked telepathically with Caleb and killed the attackers through that connection, an effort that left her in a coma.
She recovered on Betazed, transferred to Starfleet Academy and struggled with the changes before choosing to stay. Caleb finally told her how he felt about her, and she stowed away aboard the Athena to help rescue him.
