A Gamma Quadrant farming people who fled their conquerors and came to Bajor believing it was Kentanna, the homeland foretold in their legends.
The Skrreea are a matriarchal Gamma Quadrant people who are skilled farmers and have flaking skin. After centuries of rule by the T-Rogorans, who had themselves been conquered by the Dominion, they gained their freedom and set out to find Kentanna, a promised land described in their legends.
In the episode Sanctuary, millions of Skrreea refugees arrived through the wormhole, and their leader Haneek came to believe that Bajor was Kentanna. Kira Nerys befriended her, but the Bajoran government refused to let them settle, fearing it could not feed them. The Skrreea instead went to the planet Draylon II, and the episode reflected on Bajor's own history as a people of refugees.
